Explication
NOTE
The passive form describes an action that happens to someone. The subject receives the action rather than performing it. In Japanese, the passive can also express annoyance or inconvenience.
NOTE
For る-verbs, drop the final る and add られる. For example, たべる becomes たべられる (to be eaten), and みる becomes みられる (to be seen).
STRUCTURE
Vる
られる弟にケーキを食べられた。
Otōto ni kēki o taberareta.
My cake was eaten by my younger brother.
皆に見られて恥ずかしかった。
Minna ni mirarete hazukashikatta.
I was seen by everyone and felt embarrassed.
先生に褒められた。
Sensei ni homerareta.
I was praised by the teacher.
