The `passive form` describes an action that **happens to** someone. The subject *receives* the action rather than performing it. In Japanese, the passive can also express **annoyance** or **inconvenience**.

For *る-verbs*, drop the final *る* and add *られる*. For example, *たべる* becomes *たべられる* (to be eaten), and *みる* becomes *みられる* (to be seen).
