Explication

NOTE

The passive of u-verbs expresses the subject receiving or experiencing an action.

このこの歌うたは世界中せかいじゅうで歌うたわれている。

This song is sung all over the world.

NOTE

Form: ない-stem + れる → 書く → 書か + れる (書かれる).

NOTE

The doer is marked with に. The passive can also express indirect suffering.

Kono tatemono wa hyakunen mae ni taterareta.
