NOTE

〜そうにない signifie doesn't look like it will happen (n'a pas l'air d'arriver) ou unlikely to V (improbable de V) — la version négative de 〜そうだ (avoir l'air de).

仕事しごとが今日中きょうじゅうに終おわりそうにない。
Le travail n'a pas l'air de finir d'ici aujourd'hui.
Utilisé quand le locuteur juge d'après les apparences qu'une action n'aura probablement pas lieu.
NOTE

Utilisez-le quand des indices visibles ou les circonstances actuelles suggèrent que l'action n'aura pas lieu. Cela exprime l'impression du locuteur, pas un fait.

NOTE

Attachez そうにない à la racine en ます du verb (verbe) en enlevant ます (降ります → 降りそうにない). Une variante courante est そうもない avec le même sens.

It doesn't look like that person will arrive at the scheduled time.
この雨あめはすぐ止やみそうにないですね。
Kono ame wa sugu yamisou ni nai desu ne.
There is no sign of this rain stopping anytime soon.
