u-verbs (negative polite)
Explanation
NOTE
To make a polite negative sentence with u-verbs, you change the final u sound to the corresponding i sound, then add ません.
NOTE
For example: く becomes き, む becomes み, す becomes し, etc. This is the same stem used for the ます form.
STRUCTURE

ません今日は行きません。
Kyō wa ikimasen.
I do not go today.
水を飲みません。
Mizu o nomimasen.
I do not drink water.
本を読みません。
Hon o yomimasen.
I do not read books.
Example sentences
私はコーヒーを飲みません。
