聞こえる
to be audible
Explanation
NOTE

The verb 聞こえる means to be audible — something can be heard naturally, without effort. It describes sounds that reach your ears on their own.

NOTE

Compare with 聞く (to listen / to hear actively). With 聞こえる, the sound is the subject and takes the particle . You are not choosing to listen — the sound simply reaches you.
