〜てくれる
to do a favor (for me)
Explanation
NOTE
てくれる means to do something for me and is used when someone else performs an action for your benefit. You attach it after the て-form of a verb.
NOTE
Using てくれる expresses gratitude — it shows you appreciate what the other person did. The person doing the favor is the subject (marked with が or は).
STRUCTURE
Vて
くれる友達が手伝ってくれた。
Tomodachi ga tetsudatte kureta.
My friend helped me.
母が弁当を作ってくれる。
Haha ga bentou wo tsukutte kureru.
My mother makes me a lunch box.
先生が説明してくれた。
Sensei ga setsumei shite kureta.
The teacher explained it for me.
