NOTE

それで means therefore or because of that. It connects a cause in the first sentence to its natural result in the second.

NOTE

Unlike だから which can sound assertive, それで is neutral and simply reports the consequence. It is very common in both conversation and writing.

財布さいふわすれた。それでえなかった。
Saifu o wasureta. Sorede kaenakatta.
I forgot my wallet. Because of that, I couldn't buy it.
電車でんしゃまった。それで遅刻ちこくした。
Densha ga tomatta. Sorede chikoku shita.
The train stopped. Because of that, I was late.
ねつがあった。それで学校がっこうやすんだ。
Netsu ga atta. Sorede gakkou o yasunda.
