NOTE
そういう means like that or that kind of. It refers back to something already mentioned or known, modifying a noun to describe its type or nature.
NOTE
The そう in そういう is the demonstrative so (that way), combined with いう (to say). Together, they create a modifier meaning the kind that was described. Compare: こういう (this kind), ああいう (that kind, far).

Sou iu hanashi wa kiita koto ga nai.
