NOTE

The pattern んですが is used as a soft prelude before asking a question or making a request. It provides background context and signals that you are about to ask for something.

NOTE

Attach んですが to the plain form of a verb. This makes your question or request sound polite and indirect, rather than abrupt. The at the end leaves the sentence open, inviting the listener to respond.
