NOTE
ということ means the fact that ~ or that ~. It wraps an entire clause into a noun phrase, letting you talk about facts, ideas, or information as a single thing.
NOTE
Use the plain form of a verb, adjective, or copula before ということ. It is often used when reporting what you heard, explaining a situation, or emphasizing the significance of something.
