Explanation
NOTE
ために can also express purpose — meaning in order to. In this usage, it describes a goal that the speaker is actively trying to achieve.
NOTE
When used for purpose, attach ために to the dictionary form of a verb, or to a noun with の. The subject of the purpose clause and the main clause must be the same person.

Nihongo wo manabu tame ni, Nihon ni kita.
I came to Japan in order to learn Japanese.

Kenkou wo mamoru tame ni, yasai wo taberu.
