Explanation

NOTE

〜そうだ (hearsay) means I heard that or it is said that — information obtained from an outside source such as news, someone else, or a rumor.

明日あしたは雪ゆきが降ふるそうだ。

I heard it will snow tomorrow.

Used here to report information heard from someone else or from a forecast.

NOTE

The hearsay そうだ attaches to the plain form at the end of a sentence. This differs from the appearance そうだ, which attaches to verb/adjective stems.

彼かれは海外かいがいに引ひっ越こしたそうだ。

I heard that he moved abroad.

Attach 〜そうだ to the past tense of a verb to report a completed action you heard about.
