けれども
but
Explanation
NOTE

けれども means but or although. It connects two contrasting clauses and is more polite and formal than けど or けれど.

NOTE

The forms range from most formal to most casual: けれどもけれどけど. All three carry the same meaning. Use けれども in polite speech and writing.
