Explanation
NOTE
The i-adjective ほしい means want and is used to express desire for a noun. The desired thing is marked with the particle が.
NOTE
Like たい, this form is mainly for expressing your own wants. Since ほしい is an i-adjective, it conjugates normally: ほしくない (do not want), ほしかった (wanted).
