NOTE

〜ことがある expresses that something sometimes happens or there are times when an event occurs. It describes an occasional or intermittent occurrence, not a regular habit.

仕事しごとが忙いそがしくて、ご飯ごはんを食たべないことがある。
There are times when I skip meals because work is busy.
This grammar is used to describe an event that happens occasionally or from time to time.
NOTE

With the plain affirmative form (する・食べる), it means the event sometimes happens. With the ない form, it means there are times when one does not do it.

気分きぶんがよくないと、何なにも食たべたくないことがある。
When I don't feel well, there are times when I don't want to eat anything.
Using the dictionary form of a verb before 'koto ga aru' indicates an occasional habit or occurrence.
