Explanation
NOTE
〜のではないだろうか expresses a gentle, tentative conjecture — "I wonder if it might be" or "could it be that".
彼女は病気なのではないだろうか。
I wonder if she might be ill.
This structure is used to express a polite or indirect opinion/conjecture. It softens a statement by presenting it as a question rather than a fact.
NOTE
Softer and more indirect than だろう or に違いない. The casual spoken form is 〜んじゃないだろうか.
