Explanation
NOTE

〜と言っても means although you might say X or even if you call it X. It introduces a qualification or correction — acknowledging a word or idea while pointing out that the reality is different or more limited than expected.

It is used to temper an expectation or prevent misunderstanding.

旅行りょこうと言っても日帰ひがえりだ。
Although I say it's a trip, it's just a day trip.
Use this to soften a statement by adding a disclaimer or qualification to what you just said.

Ryōri ga tokui da to itte mo, kantan na mono shika tsukurenai.

Tomodachi to itte mo, amari shitashiku nai.
Although I call them a friend, we're not that close.
やすんだと言っても一日いちにちだけだ。
Yasunda to itte mo, ichinichi dake da.
