NOTE
ずっと is an adverb meaning continuously, all along, the whole time, or by far. It emphasizes an unbroken duration or a large degree of difference.
ずっと待っていた。
I was waiting the whole time.
Here, 'zutto' indicates a duration of time, emphasizing that the action continued without interruption.
NOTE
With verbs, ずっと expresses something continuing without interruption. With より, it emphasizes a much greater degree — e.g. ずっと上手 means much better.
彼女は私よりずっと上手だ。
She is by far better than me.
When used with comparisons, 'zutto' expresses a large degree of difference between two things.
