Explanation
NOTE

〜がち means tending to or prone to — something happens more frequently than is ideal. It often describes unwanted tendencies, whether for a person, thing, or situation.

かれ遅刻ちこくがちだ。
He tends to be late.
Used here with a noun to describe a habitual tendency, often implying something negative.
NOTE

がち attaches to the [V][~~ます~~] stem or directly to a noun. Examples: わすれがち (tends to forget), 病気びょうきがち (prone to illness), くもりがち (tends to be cloudy).

どものころ病気びょうきがちだった。
I was prone to illness when I was a child.
Shows a state that occurred frequently or easily in the past.
