Explanation

NOTE

Particles can combine with の to create compound particles that modify a following noun.

学校がっこうでの生活せいかつは楽たのしい。

Life at school is fun.

での = で (at) + の (nominalizer modifying 生活)

先生せんせいへの手紙てがみを書かいた。

I wrote a letter to the teacher.

への = へ (toward/to) + の

Common combinations: での (at/in), への (toward/to), からの (from), までの (until/up to).
