NOTE
〜み turns i-adjective stems into nouns, conveying a subjective, felt quality.
このチョコレートは甘みがある。
This chocolate has a pleasant sweetness to it.
甘み — a nuanced, subjective sweetness
NOTE
〜み differs from 〜さ: 甘さ is objective measurement; 甘み is the felt sensation of sweetness.
深みのある味だ。
It is a flavor with depth.
The suffix -mi turns adjectives into nouns, describing a quality or state of that attribute.
