Explanation
NOTE

〜に比べて means compared to — it sets up a comparison between X and Y, highlighting a difference in degree, quality, or quantity.

去年きょねんに比べて今年ことしあたたかい。
Compared to last year, this year is warm.
Used to establish a baseline for comparison between two different time periods.
NOTE

Attach に比べて directly after a noun to say "compared to [noun], ...".
