Explanation
NOTE
そのために is a conjunction meaning for that reason or because of that, connecting two sentences as cause → result.
昨日は雨が降っていた。そのために、試合が中止になった。
It was raining yesterday. For that reason, the game was cancelled.
This shows a cause-and-effect relationship where the first sentence causes the result in the second.
NOTE
More formal than だから; often used in written Japanese. The second sentence states the consequence.
