~ness (adjective nominalization)
Explanation
NOTE

〜さ turns adjectives into nouns meaning '-ness' or '-ity'. It works with both i-adjectives and na-adjectives.

山やまの高たかさに驚おどろいた。
I was surprised by the height of the mountain.
高い (tall) → 高さ (tallness/height)
NOTE

For i-adjectives: drop the final い and add さ → 高い → 高さ (height/tallness).

I'm not good with the coldness of winter.
NOTE

For na-adjectives: use the plain form (without な) and add さ → 静か → 静かさ (quietness).
