Explanation
NOTE
〜ものだから means because — used to give an excuse or apologetic reason for something unexpected.
電車が遅れたものだから、遅刻してしまいました。
It's because the train was late that I ended up being tardy.
Conveys an apologetic or self-justifying tone the speaker couldn't help.
NOTE
The result clause is usually unexpected, troublesome, or something the speaker wants to explain away.
NOTE
With verbs, attach ものだから directly to the plain form (past or non-past).

ものだから昨日は忙しかったものだから、電話に出られませんでした。
Kinou wa isogashikatta monodakara, denwa ni deraremasen deshita.
Because I was busy yesterday, I couldn't answer the phone.
道が混んでいたものだから、遅刻してしまいました。
Michi ga konde ita monodakara, chikoku shite shimaimashita.
Because the road was crowded, I ended up being late.
初めての場所で迷ってしまったものだから、着くのが遅くなりました。
Hajimete no basho de mayotte shimatta monodakara, tsuku no ga osoku narimashita.
Because I got lost in a place I'd never been before, I was late arriving.
道が込んでいたものだから、約束に間に合わなかった。
Michi ga konde ita monodakara, yakusoku ni ma ni awanakatta.
It's because the roads were crowded that I didn't make it to my appointment.
赤ちゃんが泣くものだから、全然眠れなかった。
Akachan ga naku monodakara, zenzen nemurenakatta.
It's because the baby kept crying that I couldn't sleep at all.
友達が誘ったものだから、つい飲みすぎてしまった。
Tomodachi ga sasotta monodakara, tsui nomisugite shimatta.
It's because my friend invited me that I ended up drinking too much.
NOTE
With i-adjectives, attach ものだから directly to the dictionary form (安い → 安いものだから).

Yasui monodakara, tsui kaisugite shimatta.
It's because it was cheap that I ended up buying too much.
あまりに忙しいものだから、返事が遅れました。
Amari ni isogashii monodakara, henji ga okuremashita.
It's because I was so busy that my reply was late.
頭が痛いものだから、今日は休ませてください。
Atama ga itai monodakara, kyou wa yasumasete kudasai.
It's because my head hurts that please let me rest today.
NOTE
With nouns and na-adjectives, attach なものだから to the stem (静か → 静かなものだから).
