Explanation
NOTE
〜のもと（で・に）means under someone's guidance, influence, or a particular condition.
厳しい先生のもとで学んだ。
I studied under a strict teacher.
Typical with people who guide: 監督, 指導者, 先生.
NOTE
Use のもとで for guidance/supervision, and のもとに for conditions or abstract settings (laws, premises).
NOTE
Written in kana as もと here; the kanji 下 variant is treated as a separate expression.
