Explanation
NOTE
〜にしたら means from the perspective of or for (someone) — it expresses how a person or group feels about a situation.
親にしたら、心配するのは当然だ。
From a parent's perspective, it's natural to worry.
Used to show empathy with the feelings or judgement of the named person.
NOTE
The noun it attaches to is almost always a person or group (parents, children, foreigners, the company, etc.).
NOTE
Variants にすれば and にしてみれば are interchangeable; にしてみれば sounds slightly more empathetic.

Neko ni shitara, kono heya wa totemo hiroi desu.
From the cat's perspective, this room is very spacious.
先生にしたら、宿題は大切な練習です。
Sensei ni shitara, shukudai wa taisetsuna renshuu desu.
From the teacher's perspective, homework is important practice.
子供にしたら、早く遊びたいです。
Kodomo ni shitara, hayaku asobitai desu.
From the child's perspective, they want to play quickly.
子供にしたら、勉強より遊びたいだろう。
Kodomo ni shitara, benkyou yori asobitai darou.
From a child's perspective, they probably want to play rather than study.
外国人にしたら、日本語の敬語は難しい。
Gaikokujin ni shitara, nihongo no keigo wa muzukashii.
For foreigners, Japanese honorific language is difficult.
彼にしたら、軽い冗談のつもりだった。
Kare ni shitara, karui joudan no tsumori datta.
From his perspective, it was meant as a light joke.
