Explanation
NOTE

〜たところで means even if — stressing that the action is useless or pointless.

今いま謝あやまったところで、許ゆるしてもらえない。
Even if you apologize now, you won't be forgiven.
Implies the speaker is certain the action will have no effect.
NOTE

The result clause is always negative or shows the effort leads to no change.

NOTE

Often pairs with いくら or どんなに to emphasize that no amount of effort will change things.

どんなに急いそいだところで、終電しゅうでんには間まに合あわない。
No matter how much you hurry, you won't make the last train.
どんなに / いくら strengthens the sense of futility.
NOTE

Attaches to the past verb form — replace た with たところで (走った → 走ったところで).
