Explanation
NOTE
〜ことなく means without doing X — a literary equivalent of the casual 〜ないで.
彼は一度も休むことなく働き続けた。
He kept working without resting even once.
Often used in written or formal contexts; *休まないで* would feel casual.
NOTE
It expresses that the second action happens without the first ever occurring — emphasizing absence.
NOTE
Attach ことなく to the dictionary form of a verb (休む → 休むことなく).
