Explanation
NOTE

〜反面はんめん means on the other hand — used to present two contrasting sides of one thing.

この仕事しごとは大変たいへんな反面はんめん、やりがいがある。
This job is tough, but on the other hand, it is rewarding.
Used to describe a single subject that has two opposing qualities.
NOTE

The two clauses must describe the same subject. Often used in writing or formal speech.

NOTE

With verbs and i-adjectives, attach 反面はんめん directly to the plain form.

都会とかいは便利べんりだが、家賃やちんが高たかい反面はんめん、仕事しごとが多おおい。
Tokai wa benri da ga, yachin ga takai hanmen, shigoto ga ooi.
The city is convenient; rent is high, but on the other hand, there are many jobs.
彼かれはよく働はたらく反面はんめん、よく遊あそぶ。
Kare wa yoku hataraku hanmen, yoku asobu.
He works hard, but on the other hand, he plays hard too.
この薬くすりはよく効きく反面はんめん、副作用ふくさようが強つよい。
Kono kusuri wa yoku kiku hanmen, fukusayou ga tsuyoi.
This medicine works well, but on the other hand, the side effects are strong.

With na-adjectives, use な before 反面はんめん (便利べんりな*反面はんめん*).
