NOTE
〜というものではない means it's not necessarily the case that — a soft rebuttal of a common belief.
高ければいいというものではない。
It's not the case that expensive is always good.
Used to push back gently against an assumption people often hold.
NOTE
It is the negation of 〜というものだ, denying that a stated principle always holds true.
NOTE
Attach to a plain-form clause (verb, adjective, or copula). The casual variant is 〜というもんじゃない.

Takai kuruma o kaeba shiawase ni nareru to iu mono de wa nai.
It doesn't mean that you will become happy if you buy an expensive car.
