〜ことか・〜ことだろう

Explanation
NOTE
〜ことか and 〜ことだろう express strong emotion — how ~! or what a ~! — emphasizing the degree of a feeling.
あの知らせを聞いて、どんなに嬉しかったことか。
How happy I was to hear that news!
Often paired with どんなに or なんと to intensify the exclamation.
NOTE
〜ことだろう is slightly softer and more literary than 〜ことか, often used in writing or reflective speech.
NOTE
With verbs, attach ことか / ことだろう directly to the plain form (past or present).

With i-adjectives, attach ことか / ことだろう directly to the dictionary form or past form (嬉しい → 嬉しいことか).
