Explanation
NOTE

〜べく means in order to — it states the purpose or goal behind an action.

夢ゆめをかなえるべく、毎日まいにち努力どりょくしている。
In order to make my dream come true, I work hard every day.
NOTE

It is formal and literary. The main clause describes the action taken to reach that purpose.

事実じじつを確たしかめるべく、現場げんばへ向むかった。
In order to confirm the facts, I headed to the site.
The subject of both clauses is usually the same person.
NOTE

Attach べく to a verb in dictionary form. Note that する becomes すべく (or するべく).

Yume o kanaeru beku, mainichi doryoku shite imasu.
I am working hard every day in order to make my dream come true.
試験しけんに合格ごうかくするべく、図書館としょかんで勉強べんきょうしました。
Shiken ni goukaku suru beku, toshokan de benkyou shimashita.
I studied at the library in order to pass the exam.
町まちを発展はってんさせるべく、新あたらしい計画けいかくを立たてました。
Machi o hatten saseru beku, atarashii keikaku o tatemashita.
We made a new plan in order to develop the town.
