Explanation
NOTE
〜限りだ means extremely — the speaker feels an emotion to the highest possible degree.
NOTE
It is formal and is used only to express the speaker's own strong feelings, such as joy or sadness.
合格できて、嬉しい限りだ。
I passed the exam, and I am extremely happy.
〜限りだ expresses an emotion the speaker personally feels at its strongest.
NOTE
Attach 限りだ to an i-adjective in dictionary form. The adjective must describe a feeling.
