Explanation
NOTE
〜折には means when — it marks a special occasion as the time another action happens.
上京の折には、ぜひお立ち寄りください。
When you come to the city, please do drop by.
NOTE
It is formal and polite, used for a notable occasion — not for everyday or routine events.
お近くにお越しの折には、お声がけください。
When you are in the area, please let us know.
〜折には often appears in courteous invitations and set greeting phrases.
NOTE
To attach it to a noun, link them with の — as in 上京の折には.
STRUCTURE

の折には帰国の折には、お土産を買います。
Kikoku no ori ni wa, omiyage o kaimasu.
When I return home, I will buy souvenirs.
出張の折には、ご連絡します。
Shucchou no ori ni wa, gorenraku shimasu.
When I am on a business trip, I will contact you.

Rainichi no ori ni wa, oai shimashou.
