Explanation
NOTE

〜に先駆けて means prior to / ahead of — doing something before others or before a major event.

発売はつばいに先駆さきがけて新製品しんせいひんが公開こうかいされた。
The new product was revealed ahead of its release.
NOTE

It is formal and often used in news or business. It stresses being first, before everyone else.

その会社かいしゃは他社たしゃに先駆さきがけて新あたらしい技術ぎじゅつを導入どうにゅうした。
That company introduced new technology ahead of other firms.
に先駆けて often pairs with a noun that names a rival or a coming event.
NOTE

Attach に先駆けて directly to a noun naming an event, group, or competitor.
