Explanation
NOTE
〜ての〜 means the result of — a noun is presented as the outcome of a preceding action.
長年考えての決断です。
It is a decision made after years of thought.
NOTE
It is formal and shows that the noun came about as a result of the action — the action was the necessary process behind it.
苦労しての合格だった。
It was a pass achieved through hardship.
The noun after の names the result produced by the て-form action.
NOTE
Attach の to the て-form of a verb, then follow with a noun naming the result.

It is a conclusion reached after careful research.

It is a result reached through everyone's discussion.
